Can and should we keep romance alive whatever our age? In my opinion the number of years on the calender should have nothing to do with how romantic we feel and how we choose to live that romance on the outside whatever our circumstances.
Romance is the language of love. It is the way we show other people that we care about them. Everybody has their own unique way of showing and appreciating romance. For some it might be dressing up, flowers, a candlelit diner or a hug. You need to know and understand the other person to really know what romance means for them. Love is about showing that you care enough about them to find out what is meaningful to them.
If you have a husband or significant other now might be the time to demonstrate that feeling of romance in small ways. One of those ways might be dressing up, looking our best and making that little bit more of an effort. Dream up an evening that will please you both, a diner out or a candle lit evening at home depending on your mood.

Love the first outfit with the lace dress. Agree with you totally about wanting more navy than black. The latter can be so harsh next to mature skin. One of the biggest problems I have is finding a decent winter coat in navy rather than black. It can be like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays! Love is to be celebrated and enjoyed, and dressing up is one of the ways to express oneself at any age on any occasion.
I love outfit number two, I think a navy dress is on my list this year. Neither of us are really romantic, I think we need to go on a course for repressed Scots!
I agree with Zoe that it is really difficult to find a nice navy coat nowadays. I wore mine to death and cannot find anything to replace it. I love the way you arranged those outfits !
Navy coats do exist if you persevere. I have a great one by Gerard Darel that I bought in the Fenwick sale last year. It is a classic style and I'm sure it will last for years.
