Hope you all had a lovely romantic day yesterday. Now for a less sexy and more down to earth subject - our feet. As the years advance our extremities seem to need constant TLC. If you think about it they have given us very good service over many years. Maybe now is the time to give them a little more care and attention. So with this in mind I made an appointment with a local chiropodist for an MOT or general check up. Luckily everything is in good working order. As I sat in the chair discussing the best creams to use to keep the skin soft, supple and well moisturised, especially at this time of year when the weather is so cold, I noticed an advert on the wall for innersoles that allow you to wear heels comfortably for longer periods of time. So I made further enquiries and ended up coming out of the appointment clutching a packet of "insolia". They are much smaller and slimmer than the usual innersoles that you can buy in the chemist. I find these can take up too much room in the shoe and end up crushing your toes. I am not a great wearer of high heels, preferring flats for everyday; however there are occasions when heels are needed to finish an outfit and add a little more "je ne sais quoi"
Video discussing the science behind Insolia below:-
I tested my Insolia yesterday in a pair of medium heeled shoes and they certainly seem comfortable and take up very little room in the shoe.
Back to the question of keeping our feet well moisturised I use UCL daily or at least as daily as I can make it (I miss out Thursday mornings otherwise I would be slipping all over my yoga mat and the downward dog would be impossible).

I love, love your shoes!! They are gorgeous. Ever since my bunion surgery, I am pretty much a flats wearer all the time. The only time I elevate is usually for dress occasions and most often a wedge. I love flats and am so glad we are surrounded by fun ones...like yours! Thanks for the cream recommendation. Have a great weekend!
Ooh, I LOVE those new shoes. I've been on the lookout for a pointed, cap toe flat. I've given up on most heels over 2.5" and fortunately am finding lots of great low-heel options now.
Fabulous shoes!! Lucky you. Post foot surgery I live in flats most of the time now. Not as glamourous but much more comfy.
I have been hunting the past few weeks for "travel footwear". We are going to Rome in March, and I wanted a shoe that was as comfortable as a sneaker, but didn't have big white soles and scream, "American Tourist!" I am delighted to report I found the Clarks Tequini style in black suede today...so excited! I bought this style in brown several years ago & thought they had discontinued the style, but my local Clarks had just gotten a new shipment. Hallelujah! I might need these for standing around the Vatican waiting for the new Pope to be announced!
And for non-travel footwear, I recently bought snake print pointy toe flats from Banana Republic. Beautiful, relatively comfy, and reasonably priced. I also scored hot pink patent pointy toe flats at the Talbots sale. It's been a good shoe month for me!

Nice Info
I have those insolia built into a pair of M & S shoes, and I find them to be really sore on my arches. I love your shoes though, flats are are at the top of my list now, I don't need any more heels.
I continue to wear high heels, even at my age, although I find I can't wait to kick them off when I come home.
After years of twirling around "en pointe," the twinges you get from high heels are a "walk in the park."
Still, I can foresee a time when I will have to give them up. (sigh!)
I do love your new flats...very tempting, even for a high heel enthusiast.
Cheers, M-T
