The new message for trousers - tailored but relaxed, sporty but chic. A good pair should feel comfortable but at the same time look smart enough for work or evening. Long wide and loose has returned. Seen at Giorgio Armani, Stella McCartney, Calvin Klein and Celine to name but a few. Personally wide trousers are one of my favourite styles, although I have to admit they do look better if you are tall with longish legs. Possibly not the best look if you are petite. I have other style challenges however this is not one of them so I find that I can take to this style like a duck to water.

| Giorgio Armani - Wish more designers did navy blue for evening. So much more flattering than black on most complexions |

I still have some great wide leg trousers in my wardrobe, which have been altered over the years as my shape has changed. They are my eternal go to style if all else fails and they always succeed in pleasing me.
Thank you for reading. I really love to hear from you and appreciate the time you take to leave comments.

The Armani wide leg trousers look too short and IMO ruins the look. Love the Mulberry outfit. I like wide leg trousers as well, but did not keep any of mind from the past.
Katherine Hepburn wore them best.
My FAVOURITE...I love the Mulberry suit...gorgeous!
Have a wonderful weekend.

I agree with you...the wide leg can be so fabulous and the Mulberry suit is stunning! You wear yours well...thanks for the runway report!
I'm so happy this trend is coming back. I love being able to cinch a high waist, wide leg pant with a belt and really defining the natural waist. It's a slimmer spot on most women than the hips which is where waists have been hitting recently.
I too like wide leg trousers, but wonder at the length of the Armani pieces. I've always thought wider pants need to be about 1/2 inch off the floor. These lengths seem better for skinny pants.

It has taken me all summer to pluck up the courage to purge my wardrobe - actually it's this weekend's task. (Could it be done in a weekend?) Now I'm not so sure about the cleaning out as one of the items to go is a designer pair of wool crepe wide-legged pants that hang beautifully. Although they are 20+ years old they've expanded with me and are so dreamy to wear. I've not had them on for many years but maybe this is the year to put them on again? Now I'm feeling unsure about the whole purging event!
The Armani trousers do look a little short on the models, I guess the models are very tall and they would look longer on mere mortals. Having said that they are being worn with flat shoes and that can sometimes work.
Elizabeth Not sure about your storage space but what I sometimes do is pack something away and if I then don't miss it I can let it go.
I always thought wide leg trousers were flattering as long as they were fairly slim at the hips. Remember bell bottoms!
so fluid and lovely.
and I love Katherine Hepburn.
i want to read her bibliography.
Love the Armani navy blue trousers and top ... definitely a nice look for evening!
