Having settled into our hotel The Cezanne which I would highly recommend if you are planning a visit to Aix, central and apart from small bathrooms very comfortable, we went in search of lunch. We had been recommended Les2garcons. An historic Brasserie frequented by Cezanne, Zola and Picasso in their time. Excellent.
We spent a pleasant afternoon strolling round the historic backstreets admiring the architecture and visiting a couple of churches.
Outfit of the day. A comfy white shirt from Bauken (similar here) plus NYDJ jeans, hat scarf and comfy shoes.
Dinner was at another recommended restaurant Les2freres. A bit tricky to find as it is tucked away in a residential backstreet however well worth the getting lost and long walk.
Too chilly for us to sit outside but must be fantastic in the summer
Inside the restaurant
We dined well
For me the highlight of the visit was the Museegranet we were lucky enough to catch Le grand atelier du Midi exhibition but you will have to be quick as it ends on 13th October.
